After the horrific incident with srilankan cricket team on 3rd March 2009 near the gadaffi stadium in Lahore there was no international matches of cricket in the pakistan land since. Yes some small nations has toured pakistan, teams like zimbabwe, srilanka, westindies and bangladesh (no big players) but it was not really a full series.PCB was giving money to the boards for sending their players in Pakistan, it has changed now as PCB decided not to give monetary benefit.
But now nearly decade after the incident,the PCB is now confident that they will bring the top cricket playing nations in Pakistan and host the test matches in Pakistan Soil.
PCB is doing their best effort to convince the big cricketing nations to come in Pakistan. PCB also trying to give other nation an confidenece in term of security and sefety of their respective nations players and management people.
The CEO of PCB Wasim Khan has said to “The Associated Press” that they are building an healthy relationship with other cricket boards.
As per the Future tour program, the South Africa will tour pakistan for two match test series in January 2021 which will be the part of test championship. And southafrica will also play 3 t20 matches series in Pakistan.
After that in spetember 2021 newzealand will come to pakistan and play 3 odi’s and 5 t20 match series. England will also come to play pakistan but only for 2 t20 match series. Westindies will also come in December.
PCB is also hopefull that they will host australia in 2022.
On other hand bilateral series with India has no scope as the political relation between the two neighbouring countries is not good and both boards are clear, that they cannot play with each other in bilateral series untill there is allowence to play from their respective government.So ther will be no bilateral series in near future between india and pakistan and as a fan we will miss the contest but we will still see them competing with each other on cricket field in icc tournments and Asia cup.
The Top Test Cricket playing nation coming to pakistan will also help PCB financially and Pakistan cricket fans will also get to enjoy the great cricket matches in front of their eyes and it will also give boost to the players to play in Pakistan with full pack stadium. So it is win win situation for all. And we need strong Pakistan team for the betterment for whole cricket as Pakistan bring their own charm and charisma which is important for world of cricket.
