IPL:2021,BCCI EYEING FOR EXPANSION OF TEAMS IN IPL. HARSHA BHOGLE NOT IN FAVOUR OF 10 TEAMS IN IPL 2021.

IPL 2020 was a huge hit in every sense be it audience reach, content consumption or revenue. After the completion of IPL2020 there is an assumptions and specutions by reputed media houses that BCCI is planning for expansion of IPL by adding one or two new teams in IPL 2021. If they add even one new franchise in IPL 2021 then any how they also have to do an mega auction so that there is an equal distribution of players in terms of talent and skill and this will make the IPL an interesting, all teams will have chance to make solid and effective teams which can stay in the tournament and fight for the championship of IPL trophy.

BCCI can have two teams but it’s is more logical to have one team and it will be most likely to be Ahemadabad because there Is new build huge stadium with over 100k capacity. But it will be decided when their will be bidding for the franchise because whoever will bid more they will get the rights for the franchise. According to our study and logic Ahmedabad is front runner but Pune, Kerala, Odisha, Lucknow, kanpur or Jamshedpur, this cities can have their franchise in IPL . Bussiness tycoon Gautam Adani, Sanjeev Goenka, billionaire banker Uday Kotak, Industrialist Ratan Tata, Media Personality Ronnie Screwvala, Actor Mohan Lal and Salman khan are the interested owners names that are floating for buying an next IPL franchise.

Harsha Bhogle the most well known and respected cricket commentator also called as “VOICE OF CRICKET” has given his opinion on this subject. He said he want the IPL to grow and expand but is this the right time? According to him he is ready to have an 9 teams in IPL2021 but he don’t see 10 teams IPL happening in 2021.His concern is the duration of days that it will take for compeletion. Because, If IPL have 9 teams then it will have total 72 league matches but when IPL will have 10 teams then it will have total of 90 league matches which would require more days and he is not sure whether foreign players would be ready to play for such long time if they have national team matches. He also said that he is not a fan of having mega auction in every 3 years period. He said let BCCI decide and make an 12 teams IPL and lock them no more addition of teams and have one time mega auction that’s it, no more auction after that let franchise go all the areas of India and hunt for the talent and build their respective team without having a fear of loosing them. This will help the franchise to build and make long term planning. Franchise will have an clear idea and vision how they will lead their respective franchises in IPL. By this logic of Harsha Bhogle the fan will also feel connected to the franchise as they will not see more unnessecary changes in their favourite franchise and this will create loyalty among the fans fir the respective IPL franchise, which will help the franchise immencely. If BCCI add 2 teams now in IPL2021 then they can make two groups to settle and make matches possibly happening in short duration which Harsha Bhogle didn’t liked ,he added by saying that IPL is big and one of this reason is because it is simple every one know that each team will play other team one home and one away matches don’t make it like ‘BIG BASH’ where one team is playing one match against one team but playing two matches with other. He said don’t complicate the IPL.
